If we don't pull our shit together, especially at home turf, will be in the bottom half of the league table in a couple of weeks.
I expect us to lose our next game to WBA, but then we have two home games against Blackburn and Middlesbrough, and an away game against Luton. We have to win all three if we want to be around play-off places at Christmas.

I think this all stems from the training ground where the seeds are sown, what you achieve in training reflects on your game performance. More and more the schoolboy tuition is starting to show, and if it continues then the above rightly shows us in the bottom half of the table.Confidence seems to be at an all time low team and fanbase. Time was when it was almost impossible to get a ticket for our Championship football under Rodgers, now it's quite easy. Agreed we could do with some experience in the side, but having said that the present squad is capable of far better things playing to a system which seems non existent at the moment. It doesn't seem we have a plan A to start with, let alone a plan B. Substitutions seem to be a step backwards rather than forward.Cooper has had enough time to prove his worth, but the now small minded thinking of our club at present probably sees it cheaper to keep him on rather than pay out on sacking a manager who had no experience whatsoever in professional football management, for all Jenkins's failures I don't think he would have employed him.

Thing is, Leon and Curt were involved in the selection process along with Birch. We could be forgiven for thinking that those three would have known what they were doing. I'm sure that in time Cooper will become a good manager but right now he seems to be taking us backwards when a realistic promotion opportunity is up for grabs. Our aspirations, and indeed expectations, are suffering because of his inexperience and his learning curve is costing us our chance. I'm convinced that our squad IS good enough this season and a proven quality, experienced manager such as Bilic would have done a lot more than Cooper has managed to do. It's not his fault really because I'm sure he's trying his best but I think he's the wrong man for us at this point in time.

I agree Ivor, it's possible to fast talk your way into a job, theory as they say is a wonderful thing.I think he hoodwinked Birch, Leon & Curt. over exaggerating his capabilities. It's a pity they are mostly employed in the closed season, otherwise maybe a week on the training ground would be a better way to assess their capabilities rather than having to listen to the spiel of someone desperate to break into the professional game.

I opined on all this at the time of his appointment. I was completely underwhelmed. He had no rap sheet with senior professionals in any league and here he comes Billy Big Bollux into one of the most demanding leagues in the world.

We don’t know the basis for his hiring. Was he the best of the rest the hiring process had filtered by wage demands or was he truly the best on merit across the board of those that applied, in which case we didn’t make much of an effort in courting quality.

it’s a joke that he was hired. At least Monk had played at the level and so was not completely clueless. Clement had done time under Ancelotti. BoBo was just a bozo, but had at least coached seniors at a respectable level. It takes an exceptional talent to jump into a high level role in any industry and skip steps of seasoning. Cooper is not an exceptional talent. It’s a struggle to recognize the presence of talent ... motivating players to meet and exceed their potential is not one of them.

We overlooked our own proven coaches T&R to appoint Cooper. I wonder how this is sitting internally seeing the quality that been seasons in developing being bled out of the likes of Byers, Grimes and even Roberts - who is not at the level he was last season,

It must have had something to do with the owner's vision for the future of the club. He either agreed with it or if you'd like he was just a clueless figurehead. Love to know what happened with Graham. It seemed like he was happy in Swansea, why quit after a few months. After seeing what they did to James he must have known they weren't investing in the club. I'm scared for January, what will happen. Ayew is the most valuable asset they have. Our best players are loanees. At least Woodman is.

Time will tell. I'm not expecting any investment for sure. Just wish the owners would bugger off and find some other lives to fcuk up.

Are the current owners really shopping the club around or was that just junk journalism. Is there a formal prospectus?

If they are still or were trying to unload the club then anyone with any brains would want to sell it as a viable progressing business rather than a sinking ship with a captain who needs to abandon ship. If its not saleable now what future hope is there under this regime.
