Okay, just seen confirmation on the club's site of signing Ryan Bennet from Wolves on a three-year contract. Excellent signing actually. Agree with Ian that this has been a good window ... and we didn't lose Ayew or Grimes.

Wish Rodon good luck and hope he does us proud. We kept Ayew which is crucial. Plenty of squad depth to compete for the playoffs. Just have to keep goals from reaching the back of the net.
That's my thoughts as well. Rodon is a definite loss but Bennett has experience and leadership which our backline really need. Add to that a young Man City defender who technically will be excellent from their coaching system we can only say we've improved the defence, at least on a short term basis.

Ryan Manning is a phenomenal signing; he's a very very good player who is versatile but plays best in the middle of the park. I think he will be crucial to our game going forward and will be very interesting to see where Cooper fits him in the squad. Kasey Palmer is also a good signing in my opinion, didn't really kick it off at Bristol but also fell out of favour there so it happens. He is a good #10 and along with MGW we have some actual squad depth.

Yes losing Rodon is shitty but in the short term we are a much better squad from 24 hours ago and also at least £10M richer thanks to the Rodon deal. It's been a very good window in my opinion; get an out and out striker in Borini on a free and we are serious contenders for the automatic promotion spots if Cooper can utilize them all properly.

Borini / Ayew would be a hell of an offensive force in this league, amply supported by Cullen and Lowe and perhaps Vik.

We've lost Rodon but we have Bennett.

As for Palmer ... curious situation ... Bristol paid Chelsea £3.42m for him in August 2019 after having him on loan for the previous season, and now they ship him out on loan. Why? What did they discover that they didn't like? And they ship him to a very close rival .... Machiavellian move?

NOW, if only we can get Andy Pandy to start Benda in preference to Woody.

That's a scary thought if he's poor in the dressing room toxic personality lets hope we did researched better than that. Maybe like Celina needs a sec0nd chance. I'm just wondering how we are going to play all these new players still with Dhanda, Routs, Naughton and Cullen on the bench as it is. Shouldn't be any excuses we're good enough to compete for playoffs again. Benrahma is in London now Brentford are weaker.

We are good enough for automatic promotion. I must admit I am really surprised we signed so many good players in this transfer window, and, at the same time, managed to keep Grimes and Ayew. And if we sign Borini, then we'll have one of the best squads in the Championship, if not the best. Now it's up Cooper to keep all these players happy, keep them motivated, and rotate a lot, now when we have games every three days. Fingers crossed.

That's a scary thought if he (Palmer) is poor in the dressing room and toxic personality. Let's hope we did research better than that.
I don't think that has happened in his case. Sometimes some players just don't fit into manager's formation and style of play. We have had fresh examples in Celina and Peterson who are both good players. Also, Palmer knows Woodman, Guehi, Grimes, Smith and Gibbs-White very well, so there won't be any problems in the dressing room.

I like his smile :).

Andy Pandy couldn’t figure out how to get his old toys to play properly now he has a whole new set 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️
He'll be allright. To be fair to him, when he took over we had already lost McBurnie, James and Fer. He also inherited Asoro, McKay, John, Baker-Richardson, Nordfeldt, Moulder, etc. Then he lost Surridge in January transfer window. The vast majority of his signings were spot on last season: Brewster, Gallagher, Bidwell, Guehi, Willmott, Surridge...the jury is still out on Woodman, and as for Peterson we'll never know.

It took Cooper a year to develop a style of play. We are excellent defensively, we don't concede often from set pieces, we play from the back, our passing and passing accuracy have improved, we play a lot of direct forward passes, we run forward with the ball, our passing range has improved, our pressing has improved, and we create chances. Bidwell and Roberts are blossoming as wing-backs, and the players work hard on the pitch. There are some things where we have to improve: we need even more creativity up front and a better understanding between the players. We simply have to convert our chances into more goals.

I am also impressed with this season's signings.

And I think our players like Cooper. I am pretty sure Ayew does.
