These guys are dead and buried. A good place to go and shake of our away form blues.

Looking forward to seeing something positive come out of this match: better keeping, better defending, better finishing. But which version of Potter's team will show up?

  • Swansea, who are on the longest current run of defeats in the Championship away from home (seven), have not lost more in a row within the same league campaign since March 2001 (eight) when in the third tier.
  • Ipswich have won none of their past 33 home Championship games when conceding first (W0 D11 L22), since a 2-1 win against Leeds in January 2016.
The goal is to get a goal, the first goal, early on.

With not a great deal to play for I wonder if Potts will give some of the 'reserves' a run out and have a strong bench? There's some value in doing this but there's also value in playing his strongest side to rack up some goals and confidence against a team with even less to play for. 3-1 win for me.

Swansea City: Kristoffer Nordfeldt; Connor Roberts, Mike van der Hoorn (capt), Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kyle Naughton; Jay Fulton, George Byers, Matt Grimes; Wayne Routledge, Oli McBurnie, Daniel James.

Subs: Steven Benda, Declan John, Joe Rodon, Leroy Fer, Barrie McKay, Nathan Dyer, Courtney Baker-Richardson

Changes:
  • McKay to the bench
  • Fer returns to the bench
  • Fulton/Byers/Grimes all start in midfield.

Good to see Fer back but I guess we won't see him at his best until next season....... if he's still with us that is. That's a strong team but I'd like to have seen Benda get a run out.

We're messing around with our system again. James has been playing furthest forward and centrally. McB out wide on the left. Misuse of two players. Why? What's the point? Nobody up top to hold the ball.

Sounds like we've had three good chances and they've had one. The commentator is doing his best to inject some decibels to make the game seem exciting but I guess neither team will be busting a gut today. Although Oli must be keen to up his goal tally to the 25 mark.

Good question.

Oli didn't have any shots in the first half.

Have any of you chaps watched our team warming up ? I have been getting angrier and angrier every game watching Oli. He hardly stretches, he hardly bends he half heartedly goes through the motions. No effort at all. I would fine him and drop him on the spot, how does he get away with it ? The exercises are meant to loosen the joints and warm the muscles. No wonder he is so awkward when on the ball. His lack of movement during the game means the only warm up he has is a cup of tea at half time.

This is a game where we deserve to lose just because we are playing so far below of ability level it's shameful. Ipswich have enough, and Nordy has his boots nailed to the goal line again, that they could easily get one from a corner or other dead ball situation.

We can still secure that last playoff place. Derby are 6 ahead of us - 3 of those we can erase early in May. Bristol C and Boro can't buy a goal atm.
I'm looking forward to a goal feast v Hull on Saturday !
