Looks like our first signing will be Josh Ginnely from Hearts.
A wide man who plays on the left (has also played upfront ) scored 13 goals and had 7 assists last season .
Out of contract so comes on a free , could be a valuable asset to our squad .

In the absence of a LWB, he fills the attacking left side role. Although I see no reason why we couldn't get Ottoflex back or try out one of U21s in that role. Flex had some moves when he was allowed to use them

We have also signed a talented winger/attacker Sammy Henia-Kamau from Jersey Bulls. He is still a teenager and will be playing for our academy but I expect him to be promoted to the first squad soon.

"Henia-Kamau – the winner of the 2022 Sid Guy prize for most outstanding player at the JFA Centre of Excellence – was involved in Muratti wins at U16, U18 and U21 levels that year and has since enjoyed a run of first-team football with the Jersey Bulls, as well as playing a key role in St Peter U18s John Tregear Memorial Trophy success. He has also excelled for the Bulls at U18 and U23 level. The forward was handed a trial with Fulham FC after long-serving scout Malcolm Elias, who has built strong relationship with the JFA, brought Henia-Kamau over for a trial at the West-London outfit.
While performing well, no formal offer was made by the Premiership club, given the strength in depth at his position. Instead, Elias contacted Swansea City, who were impressed enough to offer a contract to the islander."

He had one assist and scored three goals in this match. Scroll to 7'18''. He wears no 11. His third goal is excellently taken.

Looks pretty much like a journeyman to me. His stats have been achieved mainly in the Scottish league which, frankly, doesn't impress me. It's a bit alarming if this is the calibre of player we're recruiting but there again maybe Duff has his reasons for wanting the player. I'll give him a chance to see how he rolls based on that.

Watched his highlights from last year , can finish strongly and calmly with both feet , good crosses into the box as well . Scores from inside 6 yd box and from outside the area .I think he's better than your journeyman description, four other championship teams wanted him so they must see something positive in the lad . I think he's a late developer just coming to the top of his game . Time will tell which of us is right !

And he's got pace too. It seems to me he is a good player.

Objective now is to fashion a squad and system to own this league. We showed in stretches last season that we can do that. We just killed our chances during the barren mid season period. Why exactly was that? Martin? Players? Combination? Seems to me that Duff needs to focus on getting the squad to produce for 46 and not be encumbered with pets to be ruthless to do do that. What with Piroe, Obafemi and Paterson, Martin had key players in the squad not buying lock and stock into the team ethos at various points in the season. Can’t tolerate that; if he walks the talk Duff won’t.

once we get promoted then we can jettison the bottom of the deck and add prem level players to keep the production going at that level. It will be interesting to see what Kompany does at Burnley in that regard, especially up top where he gets the #9 back from United and Obafemi’s sulk to deal with … unless he pulls magic out of thin air Obafemi is not EPL material unless K fashions a system built around him.

during the Centenary celebration, I had an interesting conversation with Mel Nurse (he cannot go 5 seconds without talking football), and his position was that everything a team does orbits around the #9. 'Pool under Dalglish had just acquired Carroll from Newcastle requiring a completely different playing style to accommodate.

Some Hearts fans say he is lazy as hell and is only playing well three months before the end of his contract to attract interest from other clubs. I usually trust what supporters of other clubs say about their players, but in this case it seems to be different. When Ginnelly was (finally) moved from a winger/wing back to a more central attacking position, either 9 or 10, he started to blossom. In 15 appearances as a centre-forward, he scored 9 goals and provided 2 assists. A damn good record. At this rate, he would score 27.6 goals in a 46-game season. Duff's 3-5-2 formation, with two strikers up front, opens the door for a partnership between Cullen and Ginnelly. Piroe will be sold this summer and I think the club have signed Donnely as Piroe's replacement.

As I have said before, Piroe’s leaving is “greatly exaggerated”. There’s something about him that clubs with money have seen that they don’t like or doesn’t meet their expectations and requirements. I wouldn’t be surprised if Piroe is here until the end of his contract.

that said, the joker in the deck is Martin at Soton … who might be able to convince them to ignore internal assessments and part with the money. If he’s going anywhere, this is where he’ll end up in this transfer window I suspect.
