Hull City

We've certainly got history with Hull but we need to beat them today to keep our very faint play-off hopes alive. Hull can't make it themselves so really don't have too much to play for. If Swans play the way they can then a good win is likely but knowing us we won't make it easy, so going for a nervy 2-1 win.

Swansea City: Kristoffer Nordfeldt; Connor Roberts, Mike van der Hoorn (capt), Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kyle Naughton; George Byers, Matt Grimes; Nathan Dyer, Wayne Routledge, Daniel James; Oli McBurnie.

Subs: Steven Benda, Joe Rodon, Declan John, Jay Fulton, Bersant Celina, Barrie McKay, Courtney Baker-Richardson.

No Fer for this one. Celina still on the bench. Tres amigos behind McB. Looking for a speedy and up tempo game from us.

Breakthrough at last and well deserved by the sound of it. Seems as though we've got one of those referees again. He'll want to see blood before he awards a yellow card.

The referee is doing ok. There were no too nasty tackles. :ROFLMAO:

We are in a total control of the game, but we lack a bit of tempo. Build up for our goal was excellent.

Some results going for us, some against. All academic unless we win though and we need that second goal for a buffer. And as I type that WE SCORE!!

As I said in my OP, despite being on top we aren't making it easy and on target for the nervy 2-1 I predicted.

Defence has let us down far too often this season and likely cost us our chance at promotion. Time and again we have outplayed teams, passed the ball well, had great possession, scored goals then our rubbish defence throws it all away. Mistakes, lack of focus, being unprofessional, call it what you will but the facts speak for themselves and our defenders have cost us. Shame because this team has so much to offer.

PS: Potter MUST sign a keeper worthy of the name and not a flapper who can't catch a cold let alone the ball.

There endeth the season. Can we now see Benda in goal. Disappointing how we, on face value a superior team, don't put strangleholds on games and squeeze the life of them. Two weak goals to concede. This could have happened agains Ipswich had they been a better team. Today it did happen against a better team. Same story over and over again.

Players apparently doing a lap to a stadium that has all but emptied out. Sad defeat. Total anticlimax. Lap is a nice touch but to nobody.

Not in a good frame of mind to discuss this in any detail right now. Our faint hopes extinguished by our shit defence, which begs the obvious question. WHO primarily is in charge of coaching our defenders? Because whoever it is cannot be allowed to continue next season - Potter apart, obviously, but I doubt it's him. If it's one of his own he still has to go, even if he's a mate, because he's not done his job. The facts, the stats and the data are all there and they will point to a succession of needless goals conceded throughout the season that has cost us dearly.

Such a shame because, from adverse circumstances, the team has done so well to get us so close and they must be given huge credit for that. More later.

On the equalizing goal ... check the low light video. The ball tracked across our six yard box, easily two yards inside it and the guy we had in goal followed it across the goal and made no attempt to claim it. Pop, far post, tap in. So avoidable with half a clue.

Such a poor game management. How many goals do we need to win a game at home turf? When you are two goals up, you have to shut up shop.
