GREEDY BASTARDS!!

Reading today that Steve Coogan (Alan Partridge) has furloughed the gardener and housekeeper at his £4 million pound mansion complete with swimming pool and tennis court. Nice for some, eh? What an out and out greedy shit this guy is, imo. He's supposed to be worth over £10 million and here he is unashamedly sponging off taxpayers who can only dream of his wealth.

It's not illegal but the Government furlough scheme was set up as a safety net to try and keep people in jobs NOT to protect the wealth of multi-millionaires by paying their staff for them. Coogan could pay his staff in full without even denting his fortune, instead he chose to make the taxpayers do it. Coogan played a billionaire fashion mogul in the film Greed 2019: how ironic is that?

Then I read of Jon Hunt who owns the Wilderness Reserve in Suffolk, a country club where rooms are charged up to £3,572 a NIGHT!! This fucker, a BILLIONAIRE (that's a thousand million), has furloughed 25 staff, again at taxpayers' expense. His greed is sickening and obscene but I doubt he'll give a shit so long as he's allowed to shaft the system.

Of course, we all know that Victoria Beckham tried it on as well until public opinion forced her to backtrack. There are far too many of these wealthy parasites bleeding the system dry and it's high time the government put a stop to it. And I hope that the public have very long memories and treat these blood-suckers with the contempt they deserve in the future.

But it should be made illegal Ivor. back as a boy after the war you would here of people in the street being 'means tested' I later realised it was large families applying to the government for a few more shillings a week, therefor their income and outgoings were checked, and more often than not were refused. Are we now to believe there is a government panel, who themselves earn probably hundreds of thousands between them, sanction the claims of these and others like Branson, who like everyone else on this planet, should to take the Roller Coaster Ride for its good and its bad. Never heard of him putting money into the funds when things were good. Questions need to be asked.

The greedy bastards at the liberty are at it again , our chairman has spoken about possible refunds for st holders and saying it will cost the club a million to refund the remaining 4 home games and saying what a strain it will be on the club's finances.
Well he can fuck off if he thinks I wont claim a rebate while those at the club have merely DEFERRED their ridiculous salaries.
I will be seeking a rebate for next season as well , this virus will still be about even when they free us from lockdown and I wont take the risk of sitting in a full stadium while that bug is about.
Asking the fans to help while our owners sit on their wallets is the lowest our club has ever sunk , new level ? Fucking right it is . Piss off Yanks and sell up to someone who will care about our club.

I think in lieu of a refund for this season the least they can do is provide a live video stream of the matches. This would be a violation of the current Championship agreement with Sky with respect to UK residents, so there'd need to be a concession from Sky.

As for next season ... who the hell knows what will happen. It's going to be bedlam if they have to socially distance within the seating area of the stadium ... how can that be achieved without rationing attendance across the season ticket base. So the Club would either have to pro-rate season ticket and refund or provide live video streams in lieu ... which again would require a concession from Sky.

In short, I don't see how the Club can possibly survive if stadium social distancing is a requirement ... any club for that matter not just us. I think L1 and L2 clubs already have a foot in the grave.

There's now some vague talk of the EPL and Championship combining to form Premier Leagues 1 and 2 with the First and Second divisions cut loose to go their own way. Be sad if that happens.

I can see some merit to this. The pyramid below this point is going to be disrupted as a result of this virus and would have to reconstitute itself depending on who was left. There'd be fewer contract players, i.e. more amateurs v professionals.

Would there be demotion of out of EPL2. Would you need to have an academy to be in the EPL 1 or 2 and at what level of certification. There are a lot of rules and configuration issues to iron out.
