Wasn't able to see or listen today, so what is the summary? As far as I'm concerned a home loss is just fucking crap no matter how it's dressed up. But were we unlucky? Was there anything in the performance that we could take heart from? Is this yet another example of Cooper being totally inept and outsmarted by his opposite number? I don't know where we go from here, I really don't. Except down the table. This manager is sucking the life out of me, much as he seems to be doing to the team. :(

Dhanda was a highlight - great goal. did much better in the left side midfield role than Byers. Doesn’t hesitate to cross or drive with the ball.

Routs was pretty good and much the better of the geriatrics on the field. For all of his reputation Rooney was rather blah .... I remember seeing Bobby Charlton at a similar age and Bobby was a class above, fitter and more powerful player.

Guehi v Cabango .... after a couple of games I’m going with Cabango.

Naughton was good and a better LB than Bidwell. We seemed to play both FBs higher up the field in the second half, especially when we were in the ascension.

Brewster was ok. Nothing special. The only thing going for him versus Borja is that he’s cheaper.

Grimes was better today, Gallagher is always ready to move to get the pass ... he doesn’t hide.

Woody .... the winning goal hit the net a good 2 yards inside the post. Woody never made any attempt. He wasn’t blinded. He just made no attempt. On their second goal, it went through his arms - a more difficult situation, but dear god he’s paid to block those at least. Watching him take crosses, I have definite criticism of his technical ability, he just doesn’t do the things I’ve seen solid keepers do as a matter of blind habit. Is he better than Nordy or Mulder ... frankly tough to say.

Different match, same story, we were the better team, but not good enough to win. The season is done. We capitulated in the transfer window. Based on the financials released for the end of last season I can see why this past transfer window went the way it did ... we’re skint, and settled a lot of notes outstanding a week or so ago.

Best we have played for a while. Gave it away with two stupid goals and a statue for a keeper. Felt sorry for Routs.. had his best game for a long time then one poor pass and bang... it's 2-3. We should have come in 3-1 up at half time. That's what cost us in the end. Cooper is clueless. Dhanda should be picked before Byers and it's time Grimes was rested , let's see Dhanda Gallagher and Fulton in the middle. He gave Cullen less than 10 mins. He should have put him on as soon as we were 2-1 up... We would have won then.

They scored 3 goals from 4 shots on target. We had 7 shots on target and scored 2 goals. Unlucky? No. We just can't shoot properly.

It's the first time in a long time that I enjoyed watching Swans, so no, Cooper was not totally inept and outsmarted.

My two biggest concerns are Byers and Woodman . How many times has Woodman been beaten from the edge of the area and has made no effort or a weak effort to stop the shot. In my mind he is not a good keeper at all.
Byers is stealing a living hiding in midfield marking space not players , not tackling or pressing and his passing is wasteful at best !
Dhanda once again showed how to play the inside forward role , but what's the betting Blooperman wont start him against QPR.?
On second thoughts Blooperman is a bigger concern than Byers or Woodman !
Our best performance for a long time but nul points and the scum above us in the table. Doesn't get much worse than that.

Thanks for the response, guys. Reading all that makes me think it's time that Woody got a warning shot across his bows, spend some time on the bench and give Mulder another chance. Woody must know that he's costing us and so will Mulder from his watching brief. He should be banging Cooper's desk for a game!

As for Byers, I championed him early doors but he's just not kicking on and Dhanda should be starting in his place. Too many of our players are phoning in their efforts and making critical mistakes that are costing us. No decent manager should remotely tolerate that and Cooper should be all over them like a rash. Protecting his nice guy image is doing us no favours.

Not being able to follow the game (other than on here, thanks, lads) I watched a lot of the rugby and can draw unfortunate comparisons with our rugby team. Lots of talent but made some unbelievable errors that cost them the game. An average Ireland team notched a bonus point win whilst we couldn't even get a losing bonus point. It angers me that so-called professional players in both codes, who earn a bloody good living playing sport, can't even get the basics right when it's needed. There were times when it looked like Wales were playing with a greasy cannonball as opposed to a rugby ball. But I bet that Pivac won't tolerate that and we'll see some wholesale changes for the next game. In other words, he expects his team to do what they are paid to do and, if they don't, they're OUT!!! I wonder if we'll see the same from Cooper.
