FULHAM

Jekyll and Hyde; Chalk and Cheese: Positive or Negative: All or Nothing. There's many such sayings that could describe our performance on Saturday. If we play against Fulham at the same level we did in the first half then we're in with a chance of getting something from the game. Replicate most of our second half shambles then we're going down 0-3....... or worse!

If we allow Fulham to dictate to us then they will keep coming again and again and again. Fulham are full of players who can hurt us....... if we let them. And I'm going to mark Cooper's card NOW. Allow Cairney the time and space to play, he will destroy us - much as we always seemed to give Eriksson a licence to do what he pleased whenever we played Spurs (Eriksson was known to disappear when he got a kicking but we never did it for some reason ). We need to get in his face and stay there, not giving him room to breathe and settle on the ball. Have we got anyone capable of doing this? Not sure but Ducks would have done it. BIG time!!

Then there's Mitrovic, an ever present dangerous threat. If our CBs can stop him scoring then we will know they really are making progress. But there are others who can damage us as well such as the likes of De Cordova-Reid (Bobby Reid as I always knew him) and Anthony Knockaert who can turn FBs inside out and supply a constant stream of dangerous passes and crosses.

Yes, Fulham have the weapons to well and truly do us. IF WE LET THEM. We need to take the game to them and force them to defend because the less time they have to attack us the better. Can we do it? On our first half form against Terriers, possibly. On our second half performance, not a hope in Hell. We can but hope that Cooper and his players remember that football is played over 90 minutes and not 45 minutes as some of them seem to think.

How the tables have turned. 2011/2012 we owned Fulham. Putting on a performance at Craven Cottage that was stunning in its expression of Swanselona. And we limp into this match on the back of a victory but having delivered a performance with an output of 327 passes with 68% completion rate that was as far from Swanselona as you could possibly imagine. Never in a million years watching that Fulham match in 2011/12 could any of us imagined that that was possible.

I am assuming/hoping that the Rodon/Cabango pairing will continue. Kalulu showed more enough to be starting again ... and sadly for Garrick this means another match on the bench. Two games, two match impacting appearances, and still on the bench. Of course, it also keeps light weight and under performers like Celina on the bench too.

Garragher has impressed in the #10 role. With Fulton and Grimes behind him that can be a solid midfield combination.

Back in Turkey now, been off air for a few days as my laptop went tits up on the journey back.
Just wondering if anyone watched the Derby Fulham game on the previous Friday.I saw that Cooper and Birch were there, again unbelievably Cooper was sitting there hands in pockets, that proverbial vacant look on his face, staring straight ahead whilst Birch,in all fairness was attempting to point out various things to him.Cooper gave the impression he had ear plugs in.

I suppose you can't blame him for not having the most expressive face. We were all born with what we've got. My ugly mug isn't what I'd have chosen either!!

Some great results for us tonight which should be a huge incentive for the lads at Fulham. Preston, Brentford, and Bristol City all lost. Forest won but they did beat Cardiff, so lots of consolation in that. BIG chance for us to move into serious contention in the table but we'll have to be at our very best to get a win. However, Barnsley stuffed Fulham recently so we can take heart from that.

Not looking forward to checking the score after work on this one. Prove me wrong please. They players I believe in but it's Cooper I do not. He'll get outcoached once again.

I have the same feeling but we'll see. What's our record with midweek games. Does anyone miss Mawson? Our £50 million man. I liked him, he wasn't a bad CB. Mitrovic is a killer, got the 2 goals in the reverse. We had a front 4 of Ayew, Byers, Peterson and Surridge then. Carroll and Borja came off the bench. We bested them on shots 18:10 and 7:4 on target. We can put a better squad on the pitch tonight. Maybe see Cullen and Garrick start.

We have pace up front and we should use it. Let Fulham have possession and counter-attack them. Of course, we have to be excellent defensively to soak up the pressure.

I would play Ayew on the left flank, Brewster up front, Garrick on the right flank and Gallagher as ATM. Grimes and Fulton in the defensive midfield. Rodon and Cabango as centre-backs.
