Deadline Day

In his press conference yesterday, Potter stated that after the deadline that the squad would be all inclusive and a meritocracy - regardless of age, seniority or pay, players would be selected based on their quality and fit. From which I infer that he has been under orders not to consider particular seniors for selection. On the one hand this has potentially compromised the Club’s performance in the field, and on the other demonstrates a draconian panic to flush cost off the books regardless of the pragmatics.

It will be interesting to see under the new regime what players bubble up and what fall down in the selection order, and whether it will be a true meritocracy or whether orders will be issued to “fatten” the likes of Dyer for move out in January.

The players may not have merited selection, but I find that a bit difficult to accept. Dyer and Narsingh didn't become crap over night relative to the likes of McKay and Asoro.

Maybe they knew they couldn't flog Bony and I'm hoping that his recovery is more advanced than anyone outside the club thinks. That, imo, can be the only reason why we didn't try for a striker. Even so, it would be a tough ask for someone who's hardly played a game in the past few seasons to hit the ground running. That said, I'm sure that if he can get a good run of games, Wilf will score a lot of goals at this level.

As for the owners and Idiot et al, I have far more respect for one of those brown things I squeeze from my ass on a daily basis. :poop::poop::poop: And I apologise to my shit for the comparison.
