Congrats to lliwt yr lavac who posted the 50,000th message on the forum. :) That's not so many compared to some forums but we're still running despite spiteful initial opposition and, for the most part, we post quality here with due respect for each other and differing points of view. For all that we are small in number, I thoroughly enjoy the content we produce. No bickering, no name-calling and no insulting remarks - just good adult honest and interesting comment and debate. Thank you all so much for your contributions and hope we can make it to 100,000 and beyond.

PS: I just want to add that being an administrator on here is the easiest job in the world because I've not had one single dispute to deal with. Not one poster has stepped out of line; not one poster has misbehaved or violated the rules of the forum....... unlike some others I've used in the past. That's all down to you lot. Well done and thank you again.

Thank you Ivor, for running this site with a rod of steel inside a latex cover iron fist inside a velvet glove. I have often been gently corrected for my mistakes but I’m happy to learn from those more knowledgable than me.

To be fair, though, should you count posts to the Word Association thread?

onward and upward ... it would be great to see more of the guests sign-up and chime in. We don't bite - honestly - but football is a contact sport, as can be this forum from time to time but all within the spirit and letter of the rules. 🤷‍♂️ ;)

I should, BTG. It gives pleasure to those that post there and surely that can only be a good thing. And it fills a gap when news is scarce.

Just as well Ducks hasn't found us then. It would be absolute mayhem!!:LOL:

As Ducks would say ... "if you can't take it, don't give it"
I don't even know if he's still alive. I hope he is - one of the craziest characters I ever met and one of the nicest too. OFF the pitch that is. We had many a happy post match/training drink together with him necking bottles of Holstein Pils. He used to claim that when he'd had six, he lost the slur from his speech and his touch of double vision, so he could see properly! Great memories of someone I'll never forget.
