Can anyone explain this one:

Operating costs: £175.1 m
Revenue: £126.8 m
Pre-tax loss: £3.2 m

Perhaps some transfer income has not been included in 'Revenue'. Don't know really, just guessing.

I'm going to wait until i see formal financials and do the year over year comparison. With discrepancies like this the notes are going to make interesting reading.

So we haven't lost this £30m, but are projecting a hole in our income this season. If we haven't already saved that by shipping out our top wage earners ( and picking up transfer/loan fees) just call me just call me Hans van der Valk.

No. Operating costs include players' amortisation for over £50m.

Operating costs = wages + players' amortisation + stadium leasing and maintaining costs + electricity + water + site hosting + pre-season camp + flight and train tickets + subsidising away tickets etc.

What I don't understand is: a) why is this not included in loss (operating costs exceed revenue for more than £50m) and b) how on earth can players' amortisation be so high over the course of one year?

You could spend the rest of your life picking holes in that. Tailored to show us what they want us to see. Means nothing.
