The player we all love to hate, just watched a vid on BBC Sport of his recollections of his fathers suicide in 2012, he was just 4 months into a 4 year contract with Stoke when it happened. The then manager Pulis suggested he leave the club,as much as we hate his aggressive play on the pitch one has to sympathise for his loss. Also the question arises did this have a bearing on his aggressive play?

Can't stand his attitude as a player but I'd never wish that on him. A close friend of mine hanged himself from a tree about five years ago and it was so unexpected from an habitually cheerful guy who had so much to live for including a teenage son. He was a member of my quiz team, had fought in and survived the Falklands war, which made his death seem all the more tragic. The grief I felt is indescribable, so I can't even begin to imagine how it would be to lose a father in those circumstances. Charlie Adams has my complete sympathy.
