Cardiff City are refusing to pay the first instalment on the Sala transfer, saying the contract was not legally binding.
Cardiff are claiming that if any part of the arrangement were not confirmed then the deal would be null and void.
Cardiff say that the FAW and Frances FLdFP had to confirm the registration to both clubs by the 22nd of Jan.
Cardiff claim the FLdFP had not contacted them either before or after that date.
That the FAW did not confirm this with Nantes, and the FLdFP did not confirm this with Nantes until the 25th of Jan.

I see this as Cardiff looking for the most minute loophole to avoid payment, they are claiming the deal should have been completed by the 22nd Jan.when Sala died in the 21st Jan. I would have thought completing a contract was the last thing on any ones mind. I also think that the completion date was nothing more than to make him eligible for their next game, not that he wouldn't become a Cardiff player. Sala's mother has made a scathing attack on Cardiff regarding their handling of the affair, one family member saying Cardiff have made his death seem worthless.

I suppose when millions are involved it brings out the worst in people and Sala's family have now appointed famous QC Michael Mansfield to get 'justice for Emiliano'. Mansfield has been involved in some of the most high profile cases in British legal history including the Hillsborough disaster.

It's even more tragic that matters should come to this and I hope that things can be resolved with as much dignity and sensitivity as possible.

Scum by name
Scum by deed
Scum.......
And scum by nature, for all the adoration when Sala became a Cardiff player, and all the crocodile tears and floral tributes when he died. ,There are now no less than seven pages on just one website disowning Sala and family from Cardiff, claiming he was never a Cardiff player. Where is the respect for the man and his family when possibly a signature in the wrong place or even missing brings out the hatred in people like this. He was enough of a Cardiff player for Warnock and some fans to travel to South America to attend the funeral. If all these glaring contract errors are true, why has it taken 2 months to come to light.
Nantes have replied saying,"We are fully compliant with FIFA rules," and point to the fact that FIFA registered the International Transfer Certificate on January 21st 2019 at 5.30 pm.

The Cardiff 'Emiliano Sala' tragedy has taken another turn, police have now brought a charge of manslaughter into the equation. Apparently a 64 yr. old North Yorkshire man was arrested and charged with suspicion of manslaughter.
It's since been announced he is pilot David Henderson, who supposedly arranged for another pilot to fly Sala on the return flight to Cardiff.

Cardiff now face a three window transfer ban for still refusing to pay the £5.2M agreed transfer sum to Nantes regarding the transfer tragedy of Emiliano Sala.
Think this also shows a lot of disrespect for his family.

Just how sick can they get? refusing to pay as they say the transfer was not completed. Yet they are inviting fans to lay floral tributes at the ground on the coming aniversary of his death, also they are to hold a memorial service. Anything rather than part with money.
