Going to be a tough game but we're on the UP and I'm hoping they're feeling very down after cocking up automatic promotion. If that sort of form prevails today then I'm going 2-1 to us. BUT we need to attack them and not sit back and give their free-scoring strikers full rein to do their stuff. COYS!!!

I expect Andy Pandy to continue with the 3+2 system that he stumbled upon if all the players are fit. It’s a system that has worked well for us and seems a natural fit for the available talent.

Last five games:
Swans: 10 points - WLDWW
Brentford: 9 points - WWWLL

We are at home, with the better record, on an upswing in form, and carrying a state of proud euphoria after that performance at Reading.

Brentford ... need to regroup and find a result.

I really like our ability to operate within the new system, defend robustly, and attack with width and force. The Reading game featured a bevy of goals with exceptional technique. I like our chances. I’d rather be us than them.

We need to play without fear but with complete focus. We need to be aware that their potent strike force can strike from anywhere at any time. Every Swan on that pitch today must be committed to winning his personal battle, compete for every ball and take the game to them at every opportunity.

The omens are with us. Brentford have never been in the Premier League; have missed a number of chances to get there in the past and, very often, the lowest team in the play-off positions has gone on to win promotion. We can't come off the pitch at the end having left anything on there; we want no 'what ifs' to reflect on with regret.

They must be feeling deflated whilst we are flying on a high, so forget about previous results and climb into them from the first whistle to the last. We earned our shot the hard way, so let's not waste it and, PLEASE, Steve Cooper, use your subs to give us fresh legs when we need them, NOT in the last couple of minutes to chase the game. It's there for us so, carpe diam, seize the day and, win or lose, make us PROUD!!

I got far away from civilization last night. Great night in isolation by the fire. This one feels like going into a battle. Must have saw 20 shooting stars and no selfish wishes. Just for a win and for Cooper to get the job done. Everyone must know their job by this point even him.

Very excited for this one. We're riding high and rightfully so, Brentford will be hard to predict for this one as losing out on automatic promotion might have given them the jitters and could still be the case. They are a very good team though so we'll have to be at our best for this one.

This is Coopers area as well; I said before the Reading game that must win games are where Cooper has some actual history with and he got it pretty much spot on vs Reading so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. We look a much much better team in the new shape and we also look a better team when we're being told to get forward rather than sit back. The losses to Brentford in the season mean nothing now as that game management for them were poor. We've got to get at them and hit them while they are wavering.

This season record is 1-6 against the bees but last season us 7-1. We have a new squad, they haven't seen Brewster or Guehi yet. Football is a strange game. Cooper may be a better manager today than he was back in December.

Two lessons that I'm taking into today's game to keep me sane:
1. The score at half-time is irrelevant to the final result (who would have thought at half-time that we would win 4-1 at Reading!)
2. The look and demeanour of our manager is in no way a reflection of his enthusiasm about and engagement with the game (he's just fundamentally a morbid and miserable bastard all the time!)

Squeaky bum time for me; I've already smoked over a half pack of ciggies and there's ages to go yet! I just hope the lads don't freeze and give it their very best shot. If we get beaten by a better team then fair enough, so long as every one of our players tries his hardest.

Pretty much what we expected. 5 in the back or is Bidwell playing up high? Here's hoping Cooper is some kind of under rated savant. Cullen, Garrick and Kalulu on the bench lots of speed and pace there. Garrick may have lost a step and gained a right hook though. Dyer still has a goal in him I bet.
