BRENTFORD

We’re lacking organization at the back and our midfield are not upping the tempo and getting involved defensively

What we are seeing is a team well drilled by a good coach....... and what we've got!! I notice that Brentford have a number of tall, powerful athletic black players and they're overpowering our milksops all over the pitch. They are all at it, up for the game and we are playing our usual slow paced by-numbers game. While we are thinking about it they are doing it.

Just saw Grimes. We were in possession at the back and Grimes had a player between himself and the man on the ball. He didn't take so much as a fcuking step to one side of him where he could have received the ball in space. With no options, the ball had to be hoofed away where Brentford regained possession. This is basic stuff for pity's sake and if we can't do that then what can we do? The comms also noted that Surridge is making runs that haven't even been seen by us. Where is our heads up football? Carry on like this and we face another stuffing of WBA proportions.

Another thing - we've been good at set pieces this season and losing VdH against this lot will prove a bigger blow than we might imagine. We lose his physicality, his organisational skills and his experience leaving two young CBs to face a potent attack. Knowing this, the rest of them should be upping their energy levels and getting in faces up the pitch to give some protection. Cooper might realise this sort of thing in a decade or two. :(

This is not bad play per se, Grimes knows what to do, this is a dearth of responsibility .... he doesn’t want the ball. He’s avoiding the ball. He’s being a coward .... as a captainhe has to want the ball, he has to want to help out his team mates.

We are missing VDH , Wilmot lost his man for both their goals , very poor defending.
Brentford are everything we are not , strong , physical , skillful and move the ball quickly and accurately with purpose.
We put 9 goals past them last season , complete reversal this years !

Hopefully they can steal a couple of goals. But 5-0 all year doesn't look good. I want to see Kalulu today.

"Steal" is the operative word. On the evidence of the first half we won't get a couple of goals by outplaying them for sure. Prove me wrong. PLEASE!!
