I'm fast falling out of love with football. No, not the game itself but the greedy, selfish, thoughtless, money-grabbing arseholes who run our top clubs. Reading today that, once the title is won, Liverpool will raise Virgil Van Djik's salary to £220,000 per week in a £57 MILLION package.
Now I'm not blaming the player - if the cash is on offer then he's gonna take it. Who wouldn't? But just remember that the shameless gits who own/run Liverpool, wanted to furlough their ancilliary staff until they were literally shamed out of it by public opinion. Of course they had the money to pay their staff properly: the Van Djik deal confirms that but it still didn't stop them trying to freeload on the taxpayer. Greedy bastards!!!!
