Sky sports saying we are in complete control. As usual, get home 45 minutes too late to be worth paying for the stream.

A good job, done well. Tidy performance. This 3 at the back setup is working well for us. We were more direct today.

Scrappy second half but a massively welcome three points for us. Is it just me thinking that Gallagher is struggling? His fitness levels seem way off for a young man and his performances have fallen away. I hope Cooper isn't playing him just to please Frank Lampard. The lad's obviously got ability but I'm not seeing the snap there that should be there. Liked O'Leary's observations in commentary - talked a lot of sense at times.

Yes I felt that last week. He is playing him because he has too. This win was just what we needed to do with every result going our way. Can't expect that every week. 4 games left and only 1 point off. 2 points and 5 goals ahead of Derby. Win win win win. Don't stop winning now!

Wednesday are ahead against Preston.

We'll need some help from Fulham, Brentford and WBA in the next round. If they all win, then a draw against Leeds we'll be enough for us to take the last play-off place from Cardiff.

Yes......the ball bounced off his back after he missed the ball trying to head it, it bounced straight to Brewster.....great assist my arse!
But fair play, he was in their box making a nuisance of himself sufficiently enough to get an assist for the goal however it came about. :)

Some stats:

POSSESSION: 40-60 SHOTS: 20-10 OT: 5-4 CORNERS: 9-4 FOULS: 16-6 GOALS: 1-3

The shots figures surprised me as I didn't get the sense that Brum put in that many. They had a marked superiority with corners as well. This indicates to me that our midfield was lacking something again to allow that pressure, which brings me back to Gallagher. Mind you, they did launch a lot of long stuff that by-passed midfield. They also committed nearly three times as many fouls as we did to keep us out!

The last two games with Roberts as wing back has seen a significant uptick in offensive threat. Under Potter, with 4 at the back, Roberts would attack the box on a fairly regular basis. Under Andy Pandy, with 4 at the back, that has seldom happened. The shift to 3 at the back is allowing Roberts to be Roberts.

Together with Routledge he was a defensive disaster waiting to happen against Wednesday. They didn't track back their men and it almost cost us points. Modern wing-backs and full-backs have to run all the time, and I'm afraid Roberts is not ready yet.

I still think we should try to play 4-1-4-1:

Naughton - Cabango - Guehi - Bidwell
------------------------Grimes-------------------------
Roberts - Ayew - Gallagher - Celina
-----------------------Brewster-----------------------

Pep Clotet has relinquished his managerial position at B/ham City after their 1-3 defeat to the Swans. He was due to finish at the end of the season but chucked the towel in after the defeat.
