Don't know the truth of this but read today that French club, Dijon, have made a bid of £3 million for the Kosovan and that Swans seem likely to accept it. I have mixed feelings about this. Celina obviously has talent but singularly has failed to produce much of it recently. Is this down to Cooper or is it a case of the player not doing it in training, or wherever? Seems a pity that we might lose a player of ability but if he's not producing it....... Thoughts?

didn't see this before I posted on another thread , but he has not been allocated a squad number which would indicate that he's on his way out of the club.
On his day he is a match winner , but all to often he under performs.

not sure if you can read too much into that. Naughton isn’t on on player panel at all. Peterson and Byers are similarly There but no pic.

Naughton ( 26 ) & Peterson ( 17 ) both have squad numbers , Celina is not listed .
Both Naughton and Peterson are in todays squad, Naughts starts, Peterson on the bench. Celina is away with Kosovo .

He seemed so promising and he's still young isn't he. He just froze too many times on the edge of the box and lost his creativity. Maybe a fresh start will be good for him.

Deal will be confirmed tomorrow, £ 3 million , 4 year contract.
Let's hope the cash will be used to bring in a striker.

Celina was poor defensively and prone to cheaply give the ball away. There's a time and place to be cute and clever and there's a time and a place to be focused and precise. He couldn't consistently make the right choice and execute. There was a reason City let him go for just the million or so we gave them, they had already figured him out. We bought on the hope that Potter, then manager, could do something useful with him and for a while it looked like it might work. But with Andy Pandy, Celina was one of a few that took steps backwards or stagnated.

And now he has taken his mercurial talents to France on a permanent with Dijon. But will he cut the mustard there?
I've heard that goals in France have dimensions of 30x30 yards. There is a great chance he will be able to hit the target there.

Fair play, he hit the target well enough against Citeh. Mind you, that's when he was playing under Potter . I guess we'd all like to know why he was such a total failure under Cooper.

We played counter-attacking football with quick transitions, which suits him well. The goal he scored against Citeh is a typical example of such football.

Under Cooper we are too slow when we have to attack, and when there are many defenders around Celina often gets dispossessed or he just shoots off target.

I've always held to the belief that if a company aspires to be a leader in an industry, and you don't have competitors poaching your top talent, then the "talent" you have is not top. Out of all of our players, the one player to leave for a fee is Celina. What does that say about him? What does it say about us and our assessment and use? What does it say about the rest of the squad when Celina struggled to make the bench, but is the one to get poached?

Time will tell.

So we made a transfer profit on what was generally speaking a Sometimes Player. Regardless of how little they make, or how little they cost, sometimes can never be enough. Bye. Bye. You’re somebody else’s sometime problem now.
I approach our matches hoping that “this time” I will see a fabulous Swans performance. “Sometimes” I’m satisfied. If not, next time, maybe.

I think maybe we've got this the wrong way around........... The manager should go and Celina should stay. When you look at what Graham Potter got out of him, compare that with his time under Cooper, I think it speaks for itself.
Cooper's only real management experience is with us, with the squad he has now they are the result of his training, in his previous job with the kids all of his squads training was done by their various clubs. Fitness isn't achieved a week before a game, and this is becoming blatantly obvious with Cooper now. Achieving fitness was never a problem to him, as was basic training, all done by the youngsters clubs.
