I would think there would be some cash on top. Palace paid around £9 mil total for Jaïro so I’d hope we could get at least £2-3 million in a swap. I love this link as it would allow us to offload a guy who wants out and to instantly bring in a player at a position of dire need. Helps lower the wage bill as well.

I'm amazed he's going to Palace or anyone else for that matter considering his underwhelming preseason performances. I wouldn't trade a bag of all sorts for him based on that - his output, effort and attitude. What possible shape can he be in to compete in the EPL, and what possible value could he deliver to a club like Palace.

For me, good riddance. With the exception of Bony, who I think is still a team player, we've gotten rid of yet another player that plays more for himself than for the team. In place, we have a much younger set of players that have the potential (some already demonstrated in the case of McB) to deliver at the championship level and a much hungrier set of players that can grow together and deliver for a number of seasons to come.

For all of our carping, it has been a pretty efficient close season. We've got some exciting young talent on board. It's now down to Potter to work his magic.

I think we all know that Ayew is far better than his pre-season games showed. But he'd obviously made up his mind to leave, so the sooner he does the better. Just hope that the Idiot negotiates a better deal than he did for Mawson. That man costs us more and more money with every passing day. He's nothing more than an incompetent, thieving parasite in my opinion.

The Palace swap is alledgedly all agreed to, Ayew for Riedewald and cash. However the hold up is Riedewald needs convincing to move down to the champuonship. I wonder if there is an all cash deal for Ayew as a backup.

According to the Sun today, the deal is off because Riedewald has not been convinced to join us.

Smart lad? ... does he want more money!

He is not a good fit for Palace and their style of play. He only made 12 appearances last season. At 21 and a senior Dutch international, he needs to play and not languish on the bench on in the stands. Perhaps he doesn't think he's good enough to beat out Amat, Fed and VDH - I presume Mawson is gone. The kid needs to play and we can / should be able to offer him that if he has the quality.

Perhaps not so smart?

Surprises me that ! Initially he was getting some very good revues out here. He's not the only one leaving, Fenerbahce are going through a very bad spell ATM could well be a wage cutting exercise.
