Got a month's free trial for this and, in addition to all the usual download stuff such as videos, music, books and free delivery on purchases etc, as you probably know they have now got the rights to some Premier League games. Right now I'm watching Palace v Bournemouth but, due to the timings, Citeh v Burnley starts at half time. So in effect I can watch all the first game and half of the second or half of the first and all of the second. Summaries and highlights of the games follow later.

So far so good and I now hope to watch the Citeh game in its entirety and there's a load of games in the next couple of days. I'll give it all a whirl and see how it goes but £7.99 a month seems a good deal for all that and of course they're showing a lot of games over the holiday. Will report back.

Yes, no shit. :) Watching Citeh who are 1-0 up courtesy of a fabulous curling Jesus strike, which is now officially the first goal scored on Prime Video. I'm watching it on telly but you can download the app to play it on your computer, tablet or phone as well. The picture quality and presentation are both excellent and the presenters are all decent with the likes of Shearer and Gabby Logan on board. Anyway, so far so good and I hope to continue tomorrow when I have a choice of any of the PL games being played. Will opt for the whole of Man Utd v Spurs (Mourinho interest as well as Dan James) with half of the Liverpool/Everton game. Jesus with another fine finish for Citeh's second as I write and they showed the Shlupp goal that put 10 man Palace ahead against Bournemouth during a break. Good stuff and I'm enjoying very much so far but I don't know about availability in the US. Go on Amazon to find out.

I have a Freeview box from TalkTalk linked to my tv which has built in apps so I was able to select Prime. I use Amazon as a customer to buy stuff, so all I had to do was enter my email and password to watch it.

I heard they have an option to turn off the commentary and just enjoy "stadium atmosphere" instead, which I like the sound of. I remember how someone's decision to hire both Mark Lawrenson and Mick McCarthy for World Cup 2010 ruined it more than the vuvuzelas, which is saying something. I thought the colour-commentators job was to make the match seem interesting and fun, not moan about every aspect of every game, constantly

I just watched with ordinary commentary and it was up to the usual standard - some of it crap and some of it interesting. Last night I watched the first half of United v Spurs; at half time I watched the start of the Liverpool game then back for the second half at United then over to the Liverpool game for the second half there. Later on I watched MOTD and caught anything I missed. I'm not so much seeing spots in front of my eyes as frigging footballs. :D

I signed up for my free trial so I could watch Manu. The enrolling was easy, especially considering I've already had two free trials!
After the one match I'd had enough. But it would've been possible too watch back the other matches until midnight!

Amazon are really trying to increase their customer base. (They claim to have 15 million prime customers already). But after the next post-Christmas feast, the next football will be when?
At least with sky and BT you're offered a steady diet.

Yes, it seems to be feast or famine at this stage but some other platforms charge up to £9.99 for a SINGLE game! I use Amazon a lot anyway, so the free postage helps: then of course you have the movies, drama series and music etc. Mind you, if and when I don't feel like I'm getting value, I'll cancel. And, as @CroJack points out, it would be really good if they showed regular Championship games.

Watched 2 games tonight. Have to say that Brighton easily deserved the win playing some great football. Arsenal were complete and utter crap. Really sad when you think back to the wonderful stuff they used to play.

And all the gooners wanted Wenger out...

A whole load of discussion on Talk Sport this morning about how far they've fallen with relegation not being dismissed. They are a club in crisis but, imo, it all hinges back to when Wenger wasn't given the funds to strengthen because of the cost of building and moving to the Emirates. A whole load of average players were brought in at relatively modest prices and the squad quality became hugely diluted. The same thing happened to Poch at Spurs when their new ground sucked up all their funds and gave Levy the excuse (not that he ever needs one) to mark time on bringing in players.

In Arsenal case it's more the manager than the players. They have a good squad. Many top managers would love to have Aubameyang, Lacazette and Pepe up front.

Agree with that but it's not the strike force that's in question, it's the midfield and defence. They have few top quality players there and it was a huge mistake to let Ramsey go for nothing. As for Ozil the thought of what he gets paid makes me sick to my stomach. £330,000 a week? The way he's playing now £300 quid would be too much!! He's an overpaid joke. When the going gets tough they say the tough get going. Ozil gets going sure enough, right out of the game!! You've probably read about Ducks, a tough player that @Yankee_Jack and I have talked about many times on here. Because of a head injury, Ducks never played league football, even though he easily had the talent to do so, but I promise you that if he ever played Ozil, the German would never get so much as a kick. Actually, upon reflection he would: on his legs, shins, feet and any other part of his anatomy that Ducks could assault. I reckon that Ozil would give up the game if he had to face Ducks every week.

I'm not criticising his skill but I take great issue with his character, his attitude and his guts. I think he must have had a bypass operation for those things at sometime in his life. As for Arenal's defenders they are absolutely abysmal and the likes of Adams, Keown, Bould, Campbell, Dixon and the like, must feel like crying every time they see them play. The same could be said of the midfielders who are 4th rate in comparison to the likes of Viera, Petite, Pires etc etc and I've not even mentioned players such as Henry, Van Persie and Bergkamp. Mind you, I do rate midfielder Guendouzi who I think will be a top player in due course. I'm just sad that the Arsenal who played such beautiful football and graced our game so well for years, are no more, to be replaced by the bunch of overpaid hacks who play for them now.
