I noticed that he would be joining this morning. There's mixed reaction on the comments in WOL as to how Cooper will use him. Seems that he can play across the front line but I think primarily he'll be used out wide as I'd imagine that Cooper will want to give Baston a good crack as our first choice striker. And pace is good as we all know.

A warm welcome, Ian, you'll find a few familiar faces on here who'll enjoy renewing old acquaintanceships.

I don't understand. Why do we need another right winger on loan? Dyer and Routs are more than capable of playing at this level. If Aldo can play up front, then ok.

What do we know about him?

In 2016/17 he was promoted to Lyon's first squad. Played and trained with Tolisso, Lacazette, Depay, Umtitti, Aouar...

In 2017 loaned out to Sochaux in the French League 2 and scored 11 goals.

In 2018 sold to Basel where he scored 1 goal in a friendly match.

He's got pace but he's still a raw talent. Let's hope he is more Dan James than Joel Asoro.

That's my thought as well. I guess Asoro just isn't impressing; Kalulu has said that he feels his best position is #10 behind the striker but we've got Celina for that so it will definitely be interesting to see how that pans out. We're being linked with a few out and out strikers now so maybe Borja may well see the door before the window is out.

Think of the amount of times we've been short in these positions due to injury,I'm all for strengthening the squad wherever, the yanks can more than afford the wage bill from this transfer window alone. It also makes these positions more competitive.

The squad sheet on the Club's web site still lists Montero and Ayew without assigned numbers. Carroll is still there also but with a number.

With Aldo, there are 28 players as part of the senior squad - 4 keepers.

The highlight clips seem to feature the same handful of plays. The second one has far more tolerable music. He's a very intriguing player, he's playing left wing in at least one formation. Seems versatile if someone goes down with an injury he can fill in anywhere up front. His footwork is very nice, just a lot of flashy trickery that looks more impressive than it is. He hustles and looks like he's willing to pass. It's hard to tell with highlight clips I'd like to see more regular game time. I would be happy with another Nathan Dyer type of player.

Cooper has options, I think the owners would love to cash in on Borja. It will be interesting to see what this team will look like come January.

According to Cooper today it looks very much like he'll be getting some game time at Derby along with Surrige

Cooper also commented on Ayew. He is back in the Club having his fitness evaluations and will be rejoining the squad for training on Sunday. I didn't hear anything about Montero.
