4-1-4-1 is Marcelo Bielsa's preffered formation at Leeds.



I think it would suit us to play 4-1-4-1 with players we have.

- Roberts, Rodon, Van der Hoorn, Naughton -

- Grimes -

- James (Montero, Routs), Celina, Fer, Dyer (Routs, James) -

McBurnie (Bony, Richardson)

This is an attacking minded formation with Celina and Fer providing creativity behind the striker, and Grimes providing protection in deep midfield. We still have full-backs to both defend and attack, and wingers to both provide crosses for Oli and Fer and cut inside and score.

Any thoughts?

Why should we change. We are finding our best form in 4-2-3-1. We out-played Leeds at the Liberty and deserved more than the draw we got. Let them worry about us.

I do think we morph into a 4-1-4-1 at times when we are attacking and one of Fer/Fulton/Grimes pushes forward and the other stays back.

Horses for courses? The 4-1-4-1 system would suit us for some games and 4-2-3-1 for others. As @LittlePuma posted, it is easy enough to morph fom one system to the other even during games should the situation call for it.

Looks like it didn't suit Leeds. I think we have quite a settled first eleven, time to stop the experiments, formation/players, and concentrated on the second half of the season improving this eleven.
