    Super Swansea!!

Our lovely, ugly city has been voted the best city in the UK for first time buyers to put down roots. The following factors were used to determine the contenders: Average house price. Crime safety. Traffic index. Life satisfaction. Swansea achieved a score of 82/100 followed by Edinburgh with...

    Managerial stupidity

We've been highly critical of our managers on here and rightly so. The most recent glaring example, of course, was the 'brilliant' decision to alienate Morgan Whittaker before selling him for the derisory fee of just £1 million. Didn't ANYONE at our club see the potential of a player who...

    BAD DAY!

Went to the dentist as I had a gum infection. Got a script for antibiotics then popped in Tesco to top up food shopping intending to call at my pharmacy before home. Never made it. The car came to a stop 100 yards from the store so I phoned the RAC at exactly 13:56. They turned up at about 18:30...

    BARRY JOHN RIP

Sad news that Barry has passed on at the age of 79. He was the first rugby superstar and earned himself the legendary title, "The King". That was bestowed upon him by the hard-bitten All Blacks rugby team of New Zealand and they knew a thing or two about the sport. He earned it during a British...

    RANT!

Jeremy Clarkson is not my favourite person but he often talks sense and in a humorous way. Here's something from the Sun for which newspaper he writes. As we know, the most diverse and woke place on Earth is to be found in the commercial breaks on television. You have a black father and...

    Congratulations

Congrats to lliwt yr lavac who posted the 50,000th message on the forum. :) That's not so many compared to some forums but we're still running despite spiteful initial opposition and, for the most part, we post quality here with due respect for each other and differing points of view. For all...

    Franz Beckenbauer and JPR Williams

Both passed away aged 78 and 74 respectively. They graced their sports in a way that few do and gave us huge entertainment. They were true 'Greats' in every sense of the word. RIP, gents, thanks for the memories.

Will we get the blues at the Blues?

Not good news for us in that Tony Mowbray has been appointed manager at Brum. I'd far sooner that we were facing a dispirited Rooney team. Mowbray is a wily, experienced campaigner and, although he'll have had just a short time with his new charges, you can bet that he'll improve them out of...

    Sad News!

Just read that our former U21 team goalkeeper, Josh Vickers (now with Derby), has just lost his wife, Laura. She passed away only three months after their wedding from cancer. Tragically far too young and I extend sincere sympathy and condolences to Josh, his family and friends. RIP, Laura. 🌹🌹🌹

Can we roll over the Hoops at QPR?

Looks like no one has the heart to start this off, so I guess I'm stuck with it. No, the way we're playing I don't think we can get a win. Even when we played badly under Martin there was always the feeling that, if we got it right on the night and played our best, we were in there with a...

    HECTOR

Posting to say that my beloved dog, soul mate and furry son passed away this morning at 10:30 am. He died peacefully at home put to sleep by a vet as he could no longer stand properly on his hind legs. We lived together happily for seven years and the one-on-one bond we formed was something I...

    Northampton

I expect the result will depend on the sort of team we select. Mind you, given some of our pre-season results against so-called lower teams, we might not win even if we fielded our strongest XI. But we need a cup run because the more the lads play together the quicker they'll learn...

    RUGBY

Unfancied and very experimental Wales beat England 20-9. After going 0-6 behind Wales started to click and eventually the score could have been much higher. We left at least 3 tries out there and one of them was disallowed on a very subjective technicality. We did score 2 other tries and England...

    Ryan Giggs

I see that he has been found not guilty on all three charges. I wonder if he'll try for the Wales job again?

    Chez GG

It was my birthday on Sunday, so LadyGG invited me to hers for a birthday dinner and it was gorgeous. As ever I was given a plate of biblical proportions piled high with roast beef, roast potatoes, mashed cabbage, swede, sugar snap peas, whole honey roasted carrots and parsnips, dried 'soaky'...

    Jack Flash

Mike suffered a bad fall in Turkey and was in hospital for a while. He pmd me to say that he's back over here and staying with a friend whilst he recovers back to good health. I've offered any help I can give if he needs it and I'm sure that all our local posters will feel the same. Good to hear...

    Cup Final

Citeh do the double and United regroup for next season. City were the better team and deserved their win despite the usual leniency shown by the officials to United. They had way more than their fair share during the Fergie days and it's about time it stopped. Seems they're a protected brand in...

    Welsh Team of the Season

Four Swans make it into the lineup: Manning, Fulton, Grimes and Piroe. I'm surprised that Wood didn't make it but the panel chose Cardiff's Perry Ng at CB. Not sure about that at all and I'm not being biased. There was no one else selected from Cardiff, so I assume they shoe-horned him in to...
