Manchester City

The ball took 10 seconds to go from keeper to net. Ten seconds to shred the essence that is City and everything that Pep pounds into his players every moment of every session of every day. Ten seconds to make them look ordinary and beatable. Ten seconds to deliver a lesson that I’m sure Pep has looked at and learned from. And, ten seconds to put down a marker that Potter must play for his players in the prep for any future game with the message: this is what we can do, let’s stop fucking around.

It’s a goal that can be compared to anything we scored under Laudrup.

This game is a pivot point of the season. Either we take this performance as a new Gold standard and drive forward up the table, or we revert to our mean and continue to struggle where we are. The City match gave the players a glimpse of their potential. They can either believe, embrace and execute or it becomes a memory of what could have been.

Football porn.
I was lucky because my initial seat was away from where @Ladygargar always sits and I was level with the 18 yard line at that end so I had a fabulous view of the final build up and goal. I can tell you it was better than porn and I got hugged and kissed by a motley selection of people I'd never set eyes on before!! :ROFLMAO: For the second half I was able to get a seat near LadyGG and her brood about on the halfway line. Row Z each time so a bird's eye view of the game. Before the game, we watched the Wales v Ireland rugby eating a 3 course meal, so I had a brilliant day with super company. :)

I never moan about my seat but it's a bit rough when all five goals are at the other end.
Let me revise a tad:

The ball took 12 seconds to go from keeper to net; involving 6 players, 5 passes and one shot.

Twelve seconds to shred the essence that is City and everything that Pep pounds into his players every moment of every session of every day. Twelve seconds to make them look ordinary and beatable. Twelve seconds to deliver a lesson that I’m sure Pep has looked at and learned from. And, twelve seconds to put down a marker that Potter must play for his players in the prep for any future game with the message: this is what we can do, let’s stop fucking around.

It’s a goal that can be compared to anything we scored under Laudrup.
