3/4 of the season still to go

So how do you think the team and manager are doing with our bare bones squad.?
What do you think we need in the next transfer window ( ins and outs ) ?
Where do you think we'll finish in the table at the end of the season ?

Manager and squad are doing brilliantly.
We will not get any players in during the Jan sales. But we could lose a few talented youngsters sacrificed on the good ship 'profit'
We will struggle with even more lack of depth in our squad and finish 8th.

That, unfortunately, could be an accurate reflection of what will happen. But let's pose an unlikely "what if". Even the board and the owners aren't that stupid that they can't see what's in front of their ignorant faces. Potts is doing a tremendous job and the improvement of the youngsters is a sight to behold. So, what if we keep Bony, don't sell any of the squad and even bring in a player or two to launch a realistic tilt at promotion?

Fer is getting more and more match fit by the game and this international break brings Bony and Montero ever closer to first team consideration. I think that if we are in touch with the top six by the end of the year, we will be really well placed to go for it. K&L maintain that they keep Idiot as their advisor and even he has started talking about 'sexy' football. So, if he believes that, and he should, then he must do his job and start advising accordingly.

We have a golden opportunity. The team is getting better and better as they develop an understanding with each other, which might not be the case next season if we have to start all over again. In fact, we run the risk of doing a Sunderland or Coventry by dropping down the divisions at a rate of knots. We seem to have hit on a golden generation of kids right NOW, so let's make the most of it and go for it.

If we don't, I can almost promise one thing and that is that Graham Potter will walk away and seek a club that appreciates his ability and will back him to the hilt.

Excellent. We are playing like old Swanselona again, and some things are even better. I don't think we have ever played a game before where all of our starting XI had 80+ % passing accuracy and our goalkeeper 100 %. Such passing stats only Pep Gurdiolas teams have.

Nothing, if Bony is fit and firing. If not, then a clinical finisher is needed in January.

Though, some players have to improve. Olsson has to improve his passing. Asoro has to improve his passing and he has to use his speed more intelligently than he does - he can watch Montero and James, for example. McKay is one of our most creative players but he needs to be more consistent and visible. Fer has to improve his passing and concentration, we know he can do that. Carroll has to use his skills more consinstently.

Where do you think we'll finish in the table at the end of the season ?
It all depends on Bony and Montero's fitness and if we are able to convert our chances to goals. If they are fit and firing, then top 6. If not, then from 7 to 12.

Me, I'll just enjoy the ride. We are immensely entertaining and so far have not suffered humiliation.
I would like a trip to Wembley before I'm too old to travel, so this season I would love a top 6 finish ( but not top 2!)

Personally I am enjoying the football we are playing , its entertaining and sometimes exciting , unlike the negative dross we have been forced to suffer over the past 3 seasons.
I fully expect a minimum of a top 6 finish , mid table if Potter continues to select Nordfeldt

The manager is just about performing miracles, one can only begin to imagine the situation we'd be in if any of the previous 4/5 managers were left with the remnants of this depleted squad. Thanks to Potter youth has exceeded all our expectations, he had no option other than to turn them into first team players, and has done so admirably. It's now a pleasure to watch them play the ball up into the final third. But as we're all aware that through no fault of his (Potts} that last crucial link of a killer striker is atm missing. I see Oli as a poacher rather than a striker, very much like sniffer Clark of Leeds in the Revie days. A role Bony would play very much to his advantage. This team is only going to improve under Potters guidance and full expect a top six (at least) finish. Regarding the keepers, as Blobs says it has to be Mudler,I think he proved that point when he subbed Nordfeldt in the PNE game.
