£1.35 m according to Transfermarkt but I'm sure Levy will ask £10.35 m for CCV.And how much do you guys reckon he'd cost?
No chance that we'll pay that. But on another tack, been thinking about Baston. If he really turns it on pre-season and we don't get a decent offer, I wonder if we might consider keeping him if we can get Ayew x 2 off the books? I still think there's a player in there. At 6ft 3", strong, mobile and with decent skill for a big man, I think he could do well in the Championship. It's a disgrace that we have to scrimp like this. If the owners had the guts to back us, even to a small degree, as they promised IN PUBLIC, we could give promotion a real go.£1.35 m according to Transfermarkt but I'm sure Levy will ask £10.35 m for CCV.
Mate, I'm not sure we are talking about the same player. CCV is an excellent passer. Actually, he was our best passer last season in terms of passing accuracy. 91.6 % . Though, he was not as adventurous as Big Mike who tops the centre-backs' Championship charts for progressive forward passes. He's young, needs to work on passing and ball control. I
Agreed. For most of the season that was fair critism. But he gained confidence and in the last few weeks he was pushing forward and making good forward passes. His progress was very similar to Ashley Williams first season with us.The problem here is he is slow to pass the ball and rarely passes it forward at pace. By the time he decides to give the ball back to Mike ( probably 90% of his passes) any openings have gone. He needs to move forward and pass. Even so I would buy him.
I misworded that terribly, It isn't the accuracy or individual control. It just seems like he doesn't travel with the ball or create much, granted he's a CB. It just seems like he's uncomfortable keeping the ball and seeing all his options. He kicks it to the closest teammate. I don't remember any major incidents where he gave up possession or made a crucial mistake, maybe one, because he is mainly making safe passes. There is nothing wrong with that really, Swansea Way. Keep possession most crucially in the back.Mate, I'm not sure we are talking about the same player. CCV is an excellent passer. CCV was also our best player when it comes to ball control and he got dispossessed the fewest times of all our players.
We should sign him permanently if we can get him for less than £3m. I am sure his resale value will be huge in no time.

I think it's because I felt the team was lacking in creativity. I like to see the defenders lead from the back.
I like him up front for set pieces especially corners. He's got the size for sneaking in a header or 2. I was excited when we got him last year because he was a player I was familiar with. Signing him to a deal would be a good investment I believe he's only 23.
You are right, though I think it was agreed with Potter that it had to be Mike, who is more experienced, to make forward runs and passes. One centre-back has to stay back when the other one runs forward.he is slow to pass the ball and rarely passes it forward at pace.
